When I was in college I had a roommate who, when she was mad, would sit down and write an "I hate" list.  I thought, what a genius idea, and tried it out myself.  I had quite the list going and I was feeling I was getting all my anger out.  After I had finished my extremely long list I sat back and realized I felt worse than when I had started - that was not what I wanted.  So, I decided to switch it up a bit and decided to write an "I love" list.   And that's what I did after my boyfriend of, say, three years broke up with me and it turned out I was o.k.  Besides, in the end he wanted to get back together and I was the one that was able to say "In your dreams".  Okay, so I didn't say that but I did have the last say.  But that's all off track.
I'm not depressed nor am I angry or even sad, just a bit in a rut so I thought I would take an idea from back in my college days and write an "I love" list.   Here goes:
1.  I love my kids, 2.  I love Paul, 3.  I love a clean house, 4.  I love fitting into all my clothes, 5.  I love that summer is coming, 6.  I love finishing a good run, 7.  I love when my kids eat what I make them for dinner without complaining, 8.  I love a great picture of one of my kids when their eyes are totally in focus, 9.  I love our new bathroom, 10.  I love when I've prepared dinner during the day so my early evening is freed up, 11.  I love hearing my kids practicing the piano when I don't even ask them to, 12.  I love Aspen Grove, 13.  I love riding downhill on a bike, 14.  I love when Eli holds my hand, 15.  I love when Charlie tells me he loves me, 16.  I love that my closet is totally clean right now, 17.  I love checking "to do's" off my check list, 18.  I love a new red marker, 19.  I love my camera, 20.  I love when my kids and I are all on the same page and we work well together, 21.  I love that I live in AZ, 22.  I love that I meet my sisters every Tuesday for lunch, 23.  I love Utah summers, 24.  I love Faithful Fawn lipcolor, 25.  I love when Gib makes mathblasters, 26.  I love when my heart is full for no apparent reason, 27.  I love when Eli's face is clean, 28.  I love Eli even when his face is dirty, 29.  I love finding a cool new toy for my kids, 30.  I love Sunday evenings, 31.  I love Outback Steakhouse, 32.  I love going on a date with Paul, 33.  I love Charlie's smile, 34.  Did I mention that I loooove Charlie's smile?, 35.  I love that Gib has  good friends, 36.  I love that Ruby's my daughter, 37.  I love Ruby's blue eyes, 38.  I love when I hear my kids laughing together, 39.  I love when my pantry is organized,  40.  I love that I have so much to love.
I dare any of you who read through this to make an "I love" list of your own.  It feels good.  I have so much more to add but I need to pick up Charlie from preschool.  Can't wait to see his smile.

I loved reading your list. What a great idea. I use to have a gratitude journal that I would write in...I need to dust that off and start back up.
Thanks for the boost.

Post pictures of your new bathroom (or at least email me some). I am so glad you love it. Did it turn out how you hoped and dreamed??

You have a lot of love, and a lot to love, and a lot of love coming back at you!

I am sure Alan feels the same way, but it was me, Anna, who wrote the above. Sorry to disappoint...!

I tend to do the I hate list thing too thinking it will help me to not do those things, but I think the I love list will be better. I am also glad to hear the toilet times at your house are as enjoyable as they are at mine. :)
