Have you ever had one of those simple moments with your children when you literally feel your heart grow? Tonight I did. Ruby and I were playing at the piano (I was accompanying her while she sang an HSM song). We had the karaoke machine out so she could sing in the microphone and she just sat next to me on the bench singing her sweet little heart out. We got to one song where I sang the part of "Troy" and she was "Gabriella". She got up on her knees, right up next to me, to be sure that I would have the microphone when it was my turn to shine. When it was duet time we were cheek to cheek and that was when it happened - my heart grew and I loved her just a little bit more than I already did. I often tell her that she is pretty close to perfect and I mean it - I don't know how I got so lucky to be a part of her life but I'm going to try to enjoy every minute of it.

I love Ruby! I wish I knew her better, but I've just always thought she was so sweet and beautiful!
I swear she is a little Amy. I didn't know you at that age, but I imagine that is what you looked and acted like too. She's equally lucky to have you as her mom. Love that picture!
Thanks for the info on photoshop...you've created a monster.
You need to record your singing and post it on your blog! Wish I could play well enough to sing with Jillian. We just have to sing along to the soundtrack. Not quite as cool.
Ok is she the most precious thing I ever did see. She reminds me a lot of you at that age, so cute, innocent and fun. I cant wait to hear the song! Also, love the paint!
Ruby is a complete HAM, I think of her singing on the computer with her wig on, pretending she is Hannah Montana, or making up her own song with friends in the background. What is awesome about Ruby is she has seemingly no qualms, no worries, no embarrassment. She is your mini-Wendy, Jen or even me--you come up with the great plan, and she will do it!
BTW, I saw someone write that if you say "Bless her heart" or "BHH" after you say something mean, the meanness doesn't count and your karma is safe. Reminded me of our conversation! HAHAHA! Bless YOUR heart!
