games, projects and Ruby's b-day

With spring comes more outside projects. I think I'm actually a good mom in the spring. The boys were buggin' the girls so I had to think quickly, on the spot. Rubber band balls, genius. I pulled out two bags of rubber bands I had bought for another purpose and got the boys working. They seriously were busy for about an hour. Just a tip.

The kids always get a kick out of me tracing them on paper and they get to color themselves in, they never tire of it. Okay, maybe Gib doesn't care to do it anymore but the other kids...
While the younger kids are coloring themselves in this is what Gib and his buddies do. I have to pretend I don't see it because it seems absolutely foolish to me. Boys!
Ruby's birthday came and went and I can't forget the annual balloon twisting extravaganza for her b-day at school. I'm actually getting requests now.
For Ruby's b-day she had a shopping spree which I think nailed it. She actually said it was her best birthday ever. No lie!
She also was able to get her ears pierced, again. A few years ago her ear got infected for her piercing so I told her she could get them pierced again and pay with it out of her own money or wait until she's 10 and I'd pay for it. She waited!
The night of her birthday she and Gib performed in Calvacade. Ruby wasn't too thrilled that it was on her b-day but we committed to both performances. They both did great!
To end the perfect birthday Ruby chose to go out to eat at Tia Rosas. I didn't complain.
Back at home the three boys were being babysat by a fabulous gal down the road. She comes with games and a great attitude. When she left Charlie said to Paul, "Dad, you should have stayed home, it was so fun." Everyone had a great night.

How did Ruby get so big?? I swear she was like two when you moved into the ward. She was stinkin' cute then and now she is beautiful. That sounds like a great birthday.
