Having a pool in AZ in the summer is absolutely dreamy. But you can only swim so much and the rest of the time is spent indoors. So.......what should we do? I had a few tricks up my sleeves for this summer - some have been a hit and some have not (ie. the summer workbooks). One of the big hits was decorating cupcakes. I bought all sorts of junky candy and let the kids have a heyday. I feel like such a better mom when I have tricks up my sleeves. The only problem is I'm running out of tricks. I do love having my kids home for the summer and I feel like time is running out before they grow up a little more.

Here's one of my favorite tricks: play "restaurant" for lunch. I make up menus, put on my best fake accent, and serve the kids just what they order. They love pretending to be different people, placing their orders, and not having to clean up afterwards! It makes the daily grind of lunch a little more fun. And I can't imagine that every day isn't perfectly wonderful at your house!
OK, we have just broken up for a brief summer break. I have been a lazy and lousy walking partner....you deserve better. I just want to sleep in and tell myself I'll excercise later.....and then never do it. I promise I will recommitt. I had every intention of meeting you Monday, but we had our power, phone, internet go out during the night and we didn't get it back on until the next evening....it was hot and horrible. I couldn't get my garage up. I just got internet back up today (since Sunday). Sorry for the lengthy explanation. I am afraid to face you(:
You are the BOMB, Amy! Have fun on your little get away.
What a good mom you are, Aim. Nick found one of my many sets of cute ad practically unused cookie cutters yesterday and didn't know what they were, he played with them for HOURS . . . I obviously have been slacking! Time to roll out the dough, eh?
That is a very fun Mom thing to do...I may have to copy that idea. I think that it must be a fun party at your house everyday, you are such a fun mom!
Oh it's fun to see what you're up to! Your kids look great. Gina Weibel
So, amy are you coming to Utah? I am waiting with my dove running shorts on and I'll meet you a morning run. C-mon. What do you say?
I feel the same way. Our kids are growing up way too fast! You're such a good Mom, and they're sure lucky kids! I'm sure every day at your house is a ton of fun.
