I'd like to introduce you to our new Bishop...
Yup, my husband is now the Bishop of our ward and he's going to do fabulous!! He has been pretty overwhelmed for the last couple of weeks but now that it is finally official I think it has taken a load off. It was a real neat experience yesterday to see the immediate support we felt from the ward. So many people sustaining Paul and telling us that they knew beforehand that Paul would be the Bishop gave both of us so much comfort. It was a neat experience as I'm sure we'll have many in the next five years. So far, anytime someone calls him Bishop I chuckle - that's going to take some getting used to.
He's a good, good man and I have no doubt he's going to put his heart into this calling and will do a great job! It's me that I'm worried about - I've got to put every effort into not complaining when duty calls. Who knew that I would be a Bishop's wife? The Mother of the Ward, for that matter.

You'll be an awesome Sister Bishop (that's what I called Megan Waller)!!
Wow! That is amazing. Paul will be wonderful, and so will you. But these will be busy years for your family! Kyle just served in the bishopric in our last ward. Now he's the youngest high priest (by far) in our new ward. It's pretty funny to see him with all the old guys.
I would feel the same way. I get pretty selfish when it comes to him being called away from family. You're so awesome, though - you'll be great (and breakdowns are completely normal - I hope!). Paul will be great - I wasn't there, but when Lafe told me it was a feeling of "oh yeah, he'll be great". What a wonderful family! We love you guys!
So I hear your sleeping with the Bishop! Scandelous!
CONGRATS!!! Can't believe he is finally bishop, I expected it years ago. Thanks for the great dinner, it was so bishop wife like!
So that's what that other post was about. . . I was SO curious! Very cool - give Paul a high-five for us (if you see him) :). You get a side five on the sly.
Thanks for the 'GREAT', by the way. I've always kind of reserved that for you, but I'll take it. Think I'll go look at it again. I'm not kidding.
He'll be so great! You'll be a fabulous Bishop's wife as well. Congrats to you both!
We love it! He'll be wonderful, you'll be wonderful, and your kids will be as well!
...yet another reason for us to move back to AZ! :) GO PAUL! We're cheerin' for y'all out in TEXAS!
you are for sure the cutest funnest mother of any ward I can think of!!! good luck to you guys! don't know him well, but have heard fabulous things--and besides, he's married to you! Hello!
That is so great. Amy, you are awesome and you will handle it just fine. The blessing will make it all worth while.
You're the hottest sister bishop I think I've ever seen. I gotta get you some Laura Ashley dresses or blazers.
Oh, and WOOHOO to Paul!
congratulations--it is an awesome experience. He'll do great.
Alan saw you guys walking on Sunday. And he said that we needed to think of a name for you. we came up with MOmma bisha? Or Big Momma. Wich do you like better. Also, My dad told my mom 2 months ago he thought it was paul:) We are stoked for such a fun bishopric.~ he's a little young though do I sense a future prophet? ahah
Thank you Amy for hosting us last weekend. We had a great time and we are so excited for you guys. You and Paul are quite a team. Skilled, intelligent, spritual, fun, fit, goofy, classy, competent, so on and so on. Who can say enough!
Wow! You guys are quite amazing. We miss you & your handsome boys and beautiful Ruby. Bishop Kroff - that is cool.
Wow Paul!! Are you old enough to be bishop?? Congrats! Melissa Kroff Lawrence
Thanks for posting on our blog...SO fun to catch up. I can't believe how your kids have grown! I thought of all your posts on this page, I'd post here...Congrats to Paul on his new calling. He'll be a wonderful bishop. Our new bishop called the other day (calling related) and said he was always relieved when members answered the phone (caller ID). Teehee. Yes, the blessings will be great in the years ahead for your family. Best wishes! I added your blog to my google reader, so I can keep up on your family. Give your crew our love!
PS. When you get a spare minute, drop me a line about your photography biz. I'd love to hear how you got that going and how you keep it going. Did you take classes? Do you use photoshop? I'm tinkering with my Canon, and I think it would be fun to polish the craft and start freelancing by the time Wes is in school. rebecca@menzie.org
