Today we had Ruby's 7th birthday party and what a party it was. We gave out 30 invitations and had about 30 girls there. I was a little nervous because I took a great idea from my sister-in-law of decorating bikes and I turned it into a parade party. The kids came and immediately started decorating their bikes and making their "license plates". We attached little baskets to the front of their bikes so they'd have a place to hold their candy that they would throw to all the spectators.
They were a great group of girls who all seemed to enjoy a project and were patient with Paul and myself when they needed help. They were also all willing to share if we had run short on supplies.
The parade was to begin at 10:45 a.m. so pressure was on to be ready. Paul led the way and the girls had noise makers with Hannah Montana blaring from a boom box. It was rockin'!!
Ruby scored on presents and said that today was pretty comparable to Christmas Day - that's huge!! It was great to be able to do this for Ruby and I'm so proud to be her mom. She has got great friends and I love that she just likes people - she has a strength and she doesn't seem to judge people. She's a great example to me!! Love her!
We also learned that Eli loooovvvves Cheetos. Don't worry our driveway is always clean.

Wow. You are a super mom! What a party. I'm quite envious of your Arizona weather too. It was in the 20s here yesterday. Ugh. Happy birthday to Ruby! Can't believe our girls are seven.
You guys have got to be the coolest family on the block! What a show! I love that little girl of yours!
Great party, Amy!!! Laura had a great time and I loved your idea. It's hard to be creative - I think we get stuck in the same old games, just twisted to match the theme. That only works for a while, we've found out! Also, I love the cheetos on the ground (Laura said they were sooooo good, too!) because I've thought how funny it is lately how when they're first born it's hard for me to even put them on the floor and the pacifiers get washed every time, etc., but now Talin is eating off the floor and I figure it's "pretty" clean :) Just funny.
What a PARRRRRTTTTTTYYYYYYY! I loved the licorice.
That was such a great idea for a birthday party...my little niece who was a spectator of the parade has already asked to have a parade party next time...Oh and yes Brinley loved the cheetos as well straight off of the street!!
Wow! You are amazing to take on a party with 30 girls!!! I'm jealous you can do an outdoor party in the middle of March. It looks like so much fun.
Hey, Amy.... off topic, but where did you get your bike trailor? Do you like it? I need one and I'm trying to decided on a just-trailer or a trailer/stroller.
Way to go getting up and looking so cool and calm at Stake Conference. Now that you have that and Ruby's party over with, how bout lunch?
Cute idea for a party! Love the pics! Good job on the bread. I love the Nutramill. I have a good recipe that my parents used to use if you are still searching. Looks like you found a good one though. Love your pics!
Maggie had a blast! Thanks for being patient with her, she gets her emotions from her Dad.
Apparently Chach gets his super powers from YOU (everyone knows you're Super Mom)
You are so ambitious! You took that bike idea and skyrocketed it to the next level. Looks like a blast!
Looks so fun! Thank goodness for birthdays!
