This morning during family scriptures we were reading 3 Nephi 14 in the Book of Mormon . We were reading about the Nephites being taught by the Savior and in vs. 13-14 it reads,
13 Enter ye in at the astrait gate; for wide is the gate, and bbroad is the way, which leadeth to destruction, and many there be who go in thereat;
14 Because strait is the agate, and bnarrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and cfew there be that find it.
I explained to the kiddos that to choose wickedness is a lot easier than to choose righteousness. There are all sorts of ways to make bad choices and to head down the path of destruction. But in order to choose eternal life there is only one way and that way is pretty exact.
Then we continued on with our scripture study.
Later on that morning I went to the school to work in a couple of the kids' classrooms. I walked into Eli's kindergarten room and he gave me the best smile EVER! (Which is pretty typical from Eli). A minute later he came over to me with this drawing and said, "Remember what we learned this morning about lots of ways to be bad but only one way to be good." He was able to draw something at school this morning and he chose to draw about something he learned from scriptures. But not only that, he was listening and he understood.
That, my friends, is one of the rewards of being a mom! And for me, one of the rewards of being Eli's mom!

Love this. If all moms taught there kids likewise, this would be a better world!
That's one of those super-rewarding moments. Love those! And, I'm so sorry I'm a rotten sis-in-law and totally missed your birthday (Boo! Hiss!). I realized it, Monday, and felt like a bum. :(
Wait. You are in 3 Nephi? You guys are wicked fast.
What a good picture by Eli. I'm a little scared by all of the bad faces, which means it is effective.
That is awesome. Seriously such a rewarding thing!
